Both work and active lifestyles for all ages make us more aware of our feet and ankles - and the limits pain can place on full participation. We help to diagnose and address the complete range of adult and pediatric, orthopaedic foot and ankle concerns. Staff priviliges and out-patient procedures are ordinarily carried out at both CPMC and St. Mary's Medical Centers in San Francisco. Objectives remain to resolve pain, stabilize injuries and/or arthritis, repair foot and ankle fractures, correct child disorders, especially having preference for trauma, sports medicine and workers compensation. A balance between quickly providing relief and carefully weighing the choices is of primary concern via an accurate diagnosis not only determined clinically, but by using advanced modalities with in-office Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy, but also CT Scans, MRI and or nuclear studies at local imaging centers and hospitals.
Many times, foot and ankle pain can simply be adressed without surgery, using medication, acupuncture, massage, pool-aquatic, and physical therapy. At times however when pain and/or dysfunction limit everyday activities, surgery may be considered to bring bones, ligaments, tendons or even nerves to their correct positions. Whether palliative care or complex surgery is recommended, patients and their families, employers and carriers can be certain they are in compassionate, skilled and expert hands.
